This opportunity is for East End's build day, scheduled for Saturday, August 27th, 2022. Habitat Pittsburgh is grateful for this opportunity to connect with East End as we further our mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope in Allegheny County.
What to expect on your build day
On your team's build day, you will be greeted on site by our Construction Team members. Be sure to greet them when you arrive on site so they can get you checked-in!
When your team volunteers, our build site will be in the second stage, meaning that the work being done may consist of the following:
- Painting
- Trim Carpentry
- Tile Work
- Cleaning
- Patch Work
Registration
You must register for this event in order to participate. Registration will close one week prior to your build, on Tuesday, April 26th. Please email our Volunteer Engagement Specialist, Kate Keeley, at kkeeley@pittsburghhabitat.org if you have any trouble with registering for this event.
Attire, Arrival, Lunch & Parking
Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Habitat Pittsburgh supplies safety glasses, gloves, and all tools. However, if you wish to bring your own materials you are more than welcome to!
Please arrive on site at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the build day so we can begin promptly at 9:00am!
Please bring a packed lunch and water bottle for our 30-minute lunch break we will take on site.
Free street parking is available all around the Larimer neighborhood this build site is located in.
*Please note that you are not required to have any prior construction experience/knowledge to volunteer on a Habitat Pittsburgh build site. All are welcome to participate in furthering our mission!
