This opportunity takes place in Larimer at our build site on Lincoln Ave. This site is a brand new development, meaning the house has been built from the ground up.
What to expect on your build day
On your build day, you will be greeted on site by our Construction Team members. Be sure to greet them when you arrive on site so they can get you checked-in!
When volunteering, the work being done will depend on what stage we are at in the construction process. You could be doing any of the following activities:
- Insulation
- Tile Work
- Trim Carpentry
- Painting
- Cleaning
- Finishing Work
- Cabinetry
Registration
You must register for this event in order to participate. We ask that you register at least three days prior to your desired build day. Please email our Volunteer Engagement Specialist, Kyle McCullough, at kmccullough@pittsburghhabitat.org if you have any trouble with registering for this event. Registration is first come, first serve. If you do not see any open spaces, that means they have all been filled.
Attire, Arrival, Lunch & Parking
Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Habitat Pittsburgh supplies safety glasses, gloves, and all tools. However, if you wish to bring your own materials you are more than welcome to!
Please arrive on site at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the build day so we can begin promptly at 9:00am!
Bring a packed lunch and water bottle with you.
Free street parking is available all around the Larimer neighborhood this build site is located in.
*Please note that you are not required to have any prior construction experience/knowledge to volunteer on a Habitat Pittsburgh build site. All are welcome to participate in furthering our mission!
